Beginning on Tuesday, February 12th, Fr. Jonathan will be leading a discussion series on the seventh volume of the Pilgrim Series which explores the Bible: what it is, how it was given to us and how we should read it. Its six sessions combine simple prayer, Bible reflection, an article by a modern writer, and time for questions and reflection. Together, we will look at a “way in” to reading the Bible, thinking particularly about how to recognize what kind of writing the Bible is; we will reflect on what it means to say that the Bible is the breath of God and explore how the Bible nourishes us; we will look at the Bible as something that enlightens and informs us as Christians; we will explore what it means to say that the Bible is living and active; and we will discuss how to make Bible-reading a part of our regular life and prayer.
This series will be taking place on Tuesday mornings beginning at 10:00 AM. The dates are February 12, February 19, February 26, March 5, March 12 and March 19.
Books for both these classes will be provided free of charge. To register or for more information, please contact Chelsea DiDonato at [email protected] or call the church office at 860-767-8095 ext 10. Due to the format of this course, registration is limited to the first seven people who sign up — and we ask that participants do their upmost best to be able to attend each session. We look forward to hearing from you!
